Day 1 | Puerto Montt & Estuary de Reloncaví

Your adventure begins in Puerto Montt, Chile, where you board the La Datcha expedition yacht and sail south toward the dramatic Estuary de Reloncaví. After a safety briefing and gear check, a warm-up heli drop around Volcán Yates offers your first taste of Patagonian powder. With its rugged glacial terrain and dense forests, this zone sets the tone for the week: remote, wild, and breathtaking. Settle into the yacht’s luxury comforts—Jacuzzi, steam room, private chef—as the vessel anchors for the night in the fjord.

Day 2 | Hornopirén Area & Puerto Quemchi

Wake to alpine light spilling across the Andes and take flight toward Volcán Chaitén or the untouched bowls above Hornopirén. Today’s ski runs promise dramatic scenery and pristine snow in one of Patagonia’s most underexplored regions. After carving fresh lines, return to the yacht and sail toward the charming coastal village of Puerto Quemchi, enjoying sunset views, gourmet cuisine, and fireside warmth aboard your floating basecamp.

Day 3 | Corcovado, Melimoyu & Puerto Raul Balmaceda

Lift off over deep fjords and untouched icefields to reach the flanks of Volcán Corcovado and Melimoyu, where steep faces and glacier descents await. Few have skied these peaks, making your tracks truly first lines. From high above, you’ll spot islands, channels, and snow-draped ridges stretching into the horizon. Spend the night at anchor near Puerto Raul Balmaceda, with the hum of Patagonian wilderness all around.

Day 4 | Laguna San Rafael

Today’s heli-drops descend into the heart of the Northern Patagonia Ice Field, landing near San Rafael Glacier—a surreal landscape of shimmering ice and granite. Skiers can link big-mountain turns above the fjords while spotting marine wildlife below. After your ski session, explore the glacier by tender or relax in the yacht’s sauna with panoramic views. Overnight at Bahia San Ramon.

Day 5 | Exploradores Bay, Northern Ice Field

A day of full immersion in the remote Exploradores Bay zone, with long descents across the remnants of one of the largest ice sheets in the southern hemisphere. The terrain here is expansive and quiet—ideal for multiple drops with big vertical. With rapid glacier changes in this region, you’ll witness a rare and shifting environment firsthand. Return to the yacht for massage therapy and a celebratory dinner.

Day 6 | Volcán Hudson & Queulat Area

As you begin to sail north, ski touring continues around Volcán Hudson, known for its ice-filled caldera and remote slopes. The surrounding peaks of Queulat National Park offer a mix of high alpine and forested routes, with plenty of lines to explore. In the evening, soak in the thermal waters of Termas de Quitralco while recounting the day’s runs under Patagonian stars.

Day 7 | Puyuhuapi

The final heli day brings you to the tranquil, lush valleys near Puyuhuapi, where mellow terrain and powder-filled forests provide a relaxed finale. Optional skiing or rest day with hot spring visits, wildlife sightings, and kayaking opportunities. Tonight, the yacht anchors near Puerto Cisnes, surrounded by fjords, waterfalls, and thick native forest.

Day 8 | Return to Puerto Montt – Disembarkation

Cruise through Chile’s majestic fjords back toward Puerto Montt, soaking in final views of jagged volcanoes and glacier-tipped ridges. Enjoy a farewell brunch on deck before disembarkation. The journey ends, but the memory of carving untouched lines in one of the most remote ski regions on Earth will stay with you forever.

THE HeliSkiing EXPERIENCE

Embarking on a heliskiing expedition in Patagonia aboard the La Datcha Expedition Yacht 77 offers an unparalleled blend of luxury and adventure. Evenings

Dining

With multiple dining locations on the property, from an outdoor pizzeria to a dining table beneath an ancient cashew tree, the meals are what make this place truly spectacular.
